White mood

I have been sewing scarves like mad;) Yesterday and today I made two scarves, both are in white. So sweet and elegant!

I want to keep you warm the whole winter months so more scarves of different designs are coming. And when I do not sew I will update my personal website;) If you see nothing new on my website, it is a good sign because I am sewing!

Three new ruffled scarves

My softest and sweetest Italian silk scarf

I made another scarf today. It is made of sweet peach 100% silk fabric imported from Italy. The fabric is so soft and the look is so feminine. Absolutely adorable. Now available for sale on my Etsy shop for 43 dollars. And it ships free at this moment, to anywhere in the world.

I am making more of this kind of scarf from printed cotton voile. I have three colors ready: red, orange, and olive green. Hope to be able to list some of them either on Wednesday or Thursday. I have to sew them first;)

New products: Woolen collar and fairy scarf

I have been super productive and finally finished off my new products: a woolen collar and a fairy scarf. They are both so adorable. The collar is very neat and stylish. It certainly looks different from the experimental piece I showed and talked about on my last post;)

And the fairy scarf has a totally different character;) It is artistic, soft, and quite faminine. This scarf is this week's challenge entry organised by JealousyDesign. The theme is "Gnomes and Trolls (and Elves)". See more entries on JealousyDesign's blog.

Both items are now available for sale on my Etsy shop. And they ship for free at this moment. They will certainly make a perfect gift!

Working on something warm

I am having fun designing my new products. At least two styles of neckwarmers/collars will be listed for sale early next week. I took pictures of the collar I am working on. It is an experimental piece, therefore made of thin cotton. Looks not bad, eh?

The picture on the left is its pattern. It took me about two hours to get the measurements right. It looks a little messy;) But that is the way it is.

The real collars will be made of pure wool and has ruffles. Stay tuned!

I made myself a bag

I have been using Buddy, the messenger bag, a lot in the summer. I am still using it now. But I feel I need a more feminine Buddy; that is a messenger bag that would look lovely with a ruffled skirt or blouse. Then I also need this bag to be used while walking on the street in jeans and T-shirt or to a business meeting. So it has to be big with neat colors, and rather secure. That is a bag with zipper closure.

While I was sewing "maternity skirts" in the past week I thought of this new bag. I was like, jumping from the sewing machine to paper to make some sketch. Then later from the sewing machine to my material collection, to see what I can use. Below is what I came up with. My new bag is made of wine red heavy duty denim and black leather. The bag has a brass zipper closure, plus two exterior zippered pockets, one on the front and one on the back. I used real Jade as a button closure for the flap. Unable to see "Word Verification"

It appears that some people are not able to leave a comment on my blog posts because they cannot see the "word verification". This word verification is part of Blogspot, whose main function is to filter spam.

I feel that it is nicer for my blog's visitors to leave a comment and see it published straight away, without having to wait for me to moderate it, which could take hours. I do not want to moderate comments so I need to turn the word verification on to filter spam.

If you cannot see the "word verification" it could be because your privacy settings do not allow cookies. In order to see the word verification you will need to change your privacy settings to accept cookies from my blog. Here are some instructions on how to accept cookies for the latest versions of Firefox and Internet Explorer.

Mozilla Firefox 3.5.3
In order to allow cookies:

- Go to Tools > Options
- Select the "Privacy Tab"
- In the "History" section at the top
- Firefox will: "Use Custom Setting For History" (Select this option from the drop down menu)
- Check box: Accept Cookies from Sites (This will accept cookies from all sites)
- If you are not comfortable will accepting cookies from all sites you can click the "Exceptions" box on the right and choose to only allow cookies from my blog site: http://www.thongbaitatong.blogspot.com/
- Once you accept cookies from my site, hit refresh and the verification word will appear

Internet Explorer 8
In order to allow cookies:

- Go to Tools > Internet Options
- Select the "Privacy Tab"
- In the "Settings" section at the top click the "Advanced" button
- You will need to click "Allow" under FIRST-PARTY COOKIES
- Alternatively, In the "Settings" section at the top click the "Sites" button, you can then enter my blog site: http://www.thongbaitatong.blogspot.com/ to only allow cookies
from my site.
- Once you accept cookies from my site, hit refresh and the verification word will appear

Orange Buddy with hot and dramatic lining

I planned to make more warm clothes from wool but it has not quite happened yet. I am designing and making clothes for a maternity shop in the States. This will take quite some time before all is done and shipped. I will take my time with everything.

A few days ago I realized that I had only 1 red Buddy the compact messenger bag left. I thought I would make more of it. So, I made more red Buddy bags. Then I had an idea I would make an orange Buddy too, since I had a lot of orange canvas waiting to be used.

Today I completed 2 orange Buddy's , one with black flap and the other with orange flap. I used super hot and dramatic lining;)It is home decor weight cotton with floral print in white, orange, chocolate brown and black. Both bags are now available for sale on my Etsy shop for 75 dollars each.

It is very cloudy today

Autumn is really here, I can see it. Ever since I returned back from my vacation a few days ago it has been cloudy and cold. It rained this morning and the wind has been blowing hard it the past hours. The wooden bench in the garden lays upside down and some of the flower pots have rolled away from their place.

I did not notice much of the weather outside because I was busy sewing in my studio. Now I am sitting in front of my computer, which is in a different room. On the left of my computer is a large window over looking a large part of our garden. I look outside and see the tops of the trees waving hard in the dark.

This view is very different from the one I saw 3 weeks ago in early September. And I took some pictures. This is one of them.

I hope we will have more days such as this in the picture, before all the leaves are gone and the ground turns yellow, brown and then white.

Luxurious silver
