My creative space

----------------------------------------------------------------------------
How do you like the view outside my studio's window?

Yes, it is spring and the birds are busy building nests. Soon I will see baby birds crawling out this nest and flying off my window. I witness this every year "here" sitting behind my sewing machine.

I am so lucky to work in such an inpiring environment.

Here comes another flattering skirt

------------------------------------------------------------------------
If you like my knit cotton (jersey) skirts but the ones on sale in red, black and white have too strong contrast for you, maybe this new one is a better choice. The metal grey, teal and lime combination is just lovely. The fabrics used are soft to the touch and the style is super flattering.

Now available for sale on my Etsy Shop. Check it out for more infomation and pictures.

Spring arrives in the Netherlands

--------------------------------------------------------------------------
A lot of residents in my town are modern farmers. They have big companies growing beautiful flowers and plants such as orchids, tulips, and roses. They are now busy producing spring flowers and they need more labour than ever. My friend's daughter works part time for one of the tulip farmers. Two days ago she stopped at my house afterwork handing me a freshly-cut bunch of tulips. Such a sweet girl.

The first two pictures were taken two days ago.

And the last pictures are how the tulips look now in my living room.

What an adorable dress!

---------------------------------------------------------------------------
Here comes my newest dress. It is so adorable and pretty and comes with a matching fun scarf. It is a custom dress meaning I can make it in any size for you. Both the dress and the scarf can be bought separately or as a set.

My creative space

---------------------------------------------------------------------------
My current project is a very sweet strapless cocktail dress. It is already 80% complete now. I need to test a few things before listing it for sale. I am not a perfectionist but I do my best to ensure that my products are not only beautiful but also of high quality. Give me a few more days then you will see this sweetie on my Etsy shop.

Here are some pictures of my creative space while working on the dress.

I made a new bag last night

----------------------------------------------------------------------------
I have been absorbed with my new dress in the past days. But my concentration has been challenged by the handmade challenge organized by the Etsy European Street Team (EST). This week's theme is "Self Portrait" hosted by Dawn of La Touchables. You can make anything that represents yourself.

So I put my new dress aside and worked on my challenge entry last night. I made a bag, which was completed this morning. It is a large tote bag with an adjustable strap and an O ring.

The reason I used the patterned fabric as the base of the bag was because I wanted to say that however I choose to present myself, I am someone who is greatly influenced by my love for nature. The base or foundamental concept of my designs stems from nature, particularly flowers.

I am not sure whether I will sell this bag. It is a nice big bag which I can carry around in the coming spring and summer months.. ummmm... If you see it on my Etsy shop it means that it is for sale. Otherwise....

See more of the Challenge entries on Dawn's blog.

Oh and my new dress... Yes, I am in a very summer mood. Take a look at the fabrics I am using! About 4-5 days this dress should be complete and listed for sale.
